A probit model is like a game. We have players (for example, people who are trying to figure out the best way to grow plants) and then a goal (to figure out the best way to grow plants). To play the game, the players each guess at different ways to grow the plants. Then, once all the guesses have been made, the players get points for how close their guesses were to the goal. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. Probit models are used to help us figure out which player (or way of doing something) is the best at achieving a certain goal.
