Process theory of composition is a way of thinking about how people write. It means that rather than having to have all your ideas fully formed before you write, you should think of writing as a process of discovery. You might start off with a broad topic, and then think of questions you have about it, or different ideas and opinions that you want to explore. As you answer those questions or develop those ideas, you will eventually come up with a complete piece of writing. This way, you don't need to worry about not having enough ideas or information before you start writing – you can use the writing process to help you find out what to write!
