ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Project governance

Project governance is like the rules that we follow when we are making something new. Just like when we are building with blocks or playing a game, there are some rules that we have to follow to make sure that we are doing things correctly and safely.

When people work together to create something, like building a house, making a computer program or organizing a big event, there are different people with different ideas and goals. Sometimes they have to make choices together, and those choices can have a big impact on how well the project turns out.

Project governance helps everyone on the team make good choices by setting out clear rules and guidelines about how to make decisions and who has the power to make them. It also helps make sure that everyone knows what is expected of them and that they are all working towards the same goal.

Think of it like a big puzzle. All the pieces have to fit together perfectly to create something that looks great and works well. The same is true for a project. All the people involved have to work together and follow the rules of project governance to create something that is successful and meets all the requirements in a timely manner.
