Projectile point

A projectile point is a sharp tool that people used a long, long time ago. Imagine you are playing with Play-Doh and make a little spearhead out of it. That's kind of what a projectile point looks like, but it's made out of things like rocks or bones instead of Play-Doh.

People would attach these sharp points to the end of their spears or arrows. Then, when they wanted to hunt for food or defend themselves, they would throw the spear or shoot the arrow at their target. The sharp point would pierce through the animal's skin or defend them from danger.

People who study these projectile points can tell a lot about who made them and how they were used. They can tell what kind of rock or bone they are made of, and even how old they are! Projectile points are a really important way we learn about the history of people long ago.
