ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pronunciation

Pronunciation is a fancy word that means how we say words. Every language has different sounds that make up their words. For example, in English, the letter "a" can sound like "ah" in "cat" or "ay" in "cake."

When we speak, we try our best to make the sounds right so people can understand us. Sometimes it's hard to hear the difference between sounds that are similar, like "b" and "p" or "f" and "v."

To help with pronunciation, we can practice saying words out loud and listening to ourselves. We can also listen to other people speak and try to copy their sounds. Sometimes we might need help from a teacher or a book to learn how to say a word correctly.

It's important to try our best with pronunciation so we can communicate clearly with others. People might have a hard time understanding what we mean if we say words incorrectly, but practice can help us improve!
