Prosthetic makeup

Prosthetic makeup is like a mask that people wear on their face or other parts of their body. It's not like the masks we might wear for Halloween or pretend play. Prosthetic makeup is extra special because it makes people look like someone or something else.

A prosthetic makeup artist creates these masks by using a material that is not the same as the skin on our face. It is kind of like when grown-ups play with Play-Doh, but instead of Play-Doh, they use a special kind of clay that can be molded and shaped in different ways.

Once the makeup artist is finished making the prosthetic mask, they will place it on the actor's face or other parts of their body. The mask fits perfectly onto the person, making them look like a completely different character. It can change their facial features, like their nose or ears, or even add things like horns or fangs.

Prosthetic makeup can take a lot of time and effort to create. When the actor wears the mask, they can't move their face like they normally would, because the mask can get in the way. The actor has to practice talking and moving their face with the mask on, so they can still act like the character they are playing.

Overall, prosthetic makeup is like a really cool superpower that can transform actors into different characters. It takes a lot of work to make and wear, but the end result is totally worth it!
