Proto-writing

Proto-writing is a type of writing that was used in the past, before people began writing as we know it today. It was a way of making pictures in order to tell stories or record information. Proto-writing was used by different cultures very long ago, and it was the first type of writing to be used by people. Proto-writing is made up of symbols that stand for particular words or ideas. People used these symbols to communicate and tell stories. Today, we still use some of these symbols in books, cartoons, and even emoji.
