ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Provincial Reconstruction Team

A provincial reconstruction team (PRT) is a group of adults who work together to help make a place where people live feel better.

Imagine you and your friends are playing in a messy room. You want to clean it up, but you need some help to make it look nice again. That's what a PRT does, but instead of a room, they work in a whole town or city.

The PRT has different people with different jobs. Some of them are experts in things like building houses or fixing roads. Others know about hospitals and schools or how to keep people safe. They also have people who help with communicating and making sure everyone is working together.

Everyone in the PRT works hard to help the people who live in the place they are working in. They talk to those people and ask what they need help with. Maybe they want a new school, or they need clean water to drink. The PRT listens and then works on helping to make those things happen.

It's like a big team effort. And when they've made things better, everyone can feel happy and proud of the work they've done.
