ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pseudoskepticism

Pseudoskepticism is a way of thinking that looks like you are being very careful and critical, but actually isn't. It's like pretending to be a real skeptic (someone who questions everything to make sure it is true), but you don't actually do the work to make sure what you are looking at is true. It might look like you are skeptically examining things, but when you look closer, it's really just you disagreeing with something because you don't like it or believe it. It's like when a grownup pretends to know something they don't really know.
