Public choice refers to how people make choices when it comes to politics. It looks at how people in government (like politicians), special interest groups (like unions and businesses), and regular citizens (like you and me) make decisions that affect all of us. For example, when it comes to taxes, everyone has to pay them, so public choice looks at how people decide how much everyone has to pay and where that money goes. Public choice tries to understand why people make the decisions they do, and how those decisions affect all of us.
