The Abilene Paradox is when a group of people make a decision that none of them actually want, but they all go along with it because they're afraid to speak up. It usually happens when a group of people are afraid to disagree, so they pretend to agree even though they don't want to. Imagine a family going on a car ride to the Abilene city, even though they don't really want to go and they know it will be a long, hot ride. Even though none of them want to take the trip, they go along with it because they don't want everyone else to be unhappy. That's the Abilene Paradox.
