False consensus effect

False consensus effect is a thinking error where we think that everyone else believes the same way that we do or that what we think is normal and right. This thinking error happens when we assume that because we think one way, everyone else must think that way too. For example, if you like a certain kind of music, you might assume that everyone else likes it too. But that's not usually true - everyone has different tastes and ideas.
