Puerto Rican women in the military
Ok kiddo, so some women from Puerto Rico like to join the military to serve their country. They have to go through training to learn how to be a soldier or a sailor or an airman or airwoman.
Once they complete training, they get a job in the military, just like grown-ups have jobs. Some might work on airplanes or ships, others might work on computers or helping people who are sick or hurt.
Some Puerto Rican women might also be part of special units called "National Guard" or "Reserve." That means they still have a regular job, like a teacher or a nurse, but they can also help the military if something happens, like a big hurricane or a war.
It's pretty cool that these women want to serve their country and protect the people they care about. And we should always thank them for their service!
