Pulsed ultraviolet light

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a flashlight at home. You know how when you turn it on, it gives off bright light that you can see in the dark? Well, pulsed ultraviolet light is kind of like that, but instead of visible light, it gives off a special type of light that you can't see with your eyes called ultraviolet light.

Ultraviolet light is special because it can help get rid of germs, like the ones that make you sick. So, if you have a place like a hospital, where there are a lot of sick people, they might use pulsed ultraviolet light to try and kill germs and make the place cleaner and safer for everyone.

But, pulsed ultraviolet light isn't like a regular flashlight because it doesn't stay on all the time. Instead, it flashes on and off really quickly, in pulses, like a strobe light. This is important because if it was on all the time, it could make people and things around it really hot and could even be dangerous.

So, by using pulsed ultraviolet light, people can kill germs and keep places clean, without putting anyone in danger. Pretty cool, huh?
