ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Purpura

Purpura is like a boo-boo that makes your skin turn purple or red. It happens when tiny blood vessels break and leak a little bit of blood under your skin. It can happen anywhere on your body, but you might see it most on your arms, legs, or stomach. Sometimes, it's not serious and will go away on its own, but other times it could be a sign of a bigger problem with your blood or immune system. If you or someone you know has purpura, it's important to talk to a doctor to figure out why it's happening and how to treat it.
