ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Push-to-talk

Push-to-talk (PTT) is like playing with a walkie-talkie. Imagine you are holding a walkie-talkie in your hand, and you have to push a button on the side before you can talk. When you let go of the button, you can listen to what others are saying, but they can't hear you. It's kind of like a magical button that lets others know you're ready to talk and converse with them.

So in the same way, PTT works like a button that you press, and while you're holding it, people can hear you talking. But when you let go of the button, you won't be heard anymore. It's like you're temporarily opening a door to talk, and then releasing the button closes the door.

PTT often used in radios or communication systems, where many people are talking at the same time. By using PTT, it ensures that only one person speaks at a time, making communication more comfortable and understandable for everyone.
