Pyrheliometer

Okay kiddo, so have you ever stood in the sunlight and felt its warmth? A pyrheliometer is a special tool that scientists use to measure how strong or intense the sunlight is.

It looks like a long tube or a small box with a round opening at one end. When the round opening faces the sun, the sunlight enters the pyrheliometer and a special device inside it measures how much heat the sunlight produces.

Scientists use this measurement to understand how much energy the sun is producing and how it affects our weather and climate. It's a very important tool that helps us learn more about the sun and how it impacts our world.
