Quake (natural phenomenon)

Quakes are natural shake or trembling in the ground caused by the movement of big pieces of Earth's crust. The Earth's crust is made up of big pieces that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Sometimes these pieces move and when they do, it causes an earthquake. Earthquakes are usually strong enough to be felt and sometimes even cause damage. The shaking of an earthquake happens when the rocks scrape along each other, and the shaking spreads like waves from the center of the quake out.
