Queer erasure

Queer erasure is when people act like queer people (people who are attracted to people of the same gender or both genders) don't exist. Imagine you have a big box full of different kinds of toys - some are pink, some are blue, and some are not really a specific color. But some people say that the only toys that should exist are the pink ones, so they throw away all the blue and non-specific colored ones. That's what queer erasure is like - people are saying that only straight people should exist, and they're getting rid of or ignoring anyone who isn't straight. This is not fair or kind to queer people, and it's important to treat everyone with respect and kindness no matter who they are attracted to.
