Rabi cycle

A rabi cycle is like a roller coaster. A bit like going on a roller coaster, a rabi cycle consists of going up and down a track. The track is made up of two levels of energy, high energy and low energy. The rabi cycle starts with a particle, like a little ball, in the low energy level. Then, the particle is given some energy, like being put in a roller coaster car. This energy makes the particle go up the track to the high energy level. Then, the particle loses some of its energy so it goes back down to the low energy level. This up-and-down cycle keeps happening over and over again.
