Range (music)

Okay kiddo, have you ever played on a slide at the park? It goes up high and down low, right? Well, in music, we have something called a range, which is like a musical slide. The range is how high or low the notes in a song go.

Just like how a slide can only go up or down to a certain point, a musical range has limits too. Some instruments or singers can go higher or lower than others, which means their range is different. For example, a piano can play very low notes and very high notes, so it has a big range. But a trumpet can only play high notes, so it has a smaller range than the piano.

Musicians use the range of their instrument or voice to create different moods or feelings in the music. Sometimes they might play high notes to make a song sound happy or exciting, while other times they might play low notes to make it sound sad or serious.

So, range in music is like a musical slide that goes up and down, and it helps musicians create different sounds and feelings in the songs they play.
