ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Readers theater

Reader's theater is like playing dress-up with our voice instead of wearing costumes. We sit down with a story or play and take turns reading the lines out loud. Each person gets to be a different character and use different voices to bring them to life.

We don't need to memorize anything because we always have the words in front of us. Instead, we focus on the emotions and actions of our character, and how they are feeling in each part of the story.

Sometimes we even act out the parts as we're reading them, using our facial expressions and body language to show how our character is feeling. It's like a fun game of pretend, and we get to make the story come alive for everyone listening.

Reader's theater is a great way to practice reading and improve our speaking skills. Plus, it's a lot of fun to get lost in a story and become someone else for a little while.
