Regressive Left

Okay kiddo, so have you ever heard of the word "progressive"? It means wanting to make things better and fairer for everyone. Well, the term "regressive left" is used to describe people who also think they are working towards progress, but they sometimes end up doing the opposite.

Let's break it down a bit more. The "left" refers to people who have more liberal or left-leaning beliefs, meaning they think things like equality, tolerance, and social justice are very important. But sometimes, when people are so focused on these causes, they can unintentionally end up doing things that actually go against these values.

For example, a regressive left person might think that they are fighting racism by saying that white people are all inherently bad, or by excluding them from certain discussions. But what they don't realize is that this kind of thinking is actually racist and exclusionary in itself.

Another example might be when someone on the left wants to protect free speech, but only for people who agree with them. This means they are not actually protecting everyone's right to speak freely, which is not very fair.

So, basically, the term "regressive left" is used to describe people who, while they may have good intentions, end up doing things that actually hinder progress and don't treat others equally.
