Renaissance garden

A renaissance garden is a special kind of garden that was made a very long time ago during a period called the Renaissance in Europe. Just like when you paint a picture on a piece of paper, people in the past created these gardens like they were works of art.

In a renaissance garden, there are different parts, and each part has its own special purpose. There might be a part with a big fountain in the middle where you can play and splash around in the water. Other parts might be for growing delicious fruits and vegetables to eat or pretty flowers to look at. Sometimes, there are even little hidden rooms or secret paths to walk through!

What makes a renaissance garden special is that everything is arranged very carefully to look beautiful. The gardens often have symmetrical shapes which means they look the same on both sides like if you folded a picture in half. People who made these gardens would carefully choose where to put each plant and tree so that they would create different shapes and patterns when you looked at the garden from above.

Some renaissance gardens are very famous and are still visited by people today. There are gardens like the Boboli Gardens in Italy that was made over 400 years ago and is still one of the most stunning gardens in the world. So if you ever visit a renaissance garden, make sure to look closely at everything and see if you can find all the different parts and patterns!
