Hey kiddo! Do you know how sometimes grown-ups do the same thing over and over again to see if something changes? Like how they weigh themselves every day to see if they are getting lighter or heavier? That’s kind of like what we call a “repeated measures design”.
In science, people use repeated measures design when they want to see if there is a difference in something over time or with different conditions. Let’s say we want to see if a plant grows better with more sunlight. We could use a repeated measures design by taking measurements of the plant’s height every day for a week, and seeing if it grows taller with more sunlight.
Scientists use repeated measures design to help them really understand how things change over time or with different conditions. It’s kind of like taking lots of pictures of the same thing and putting them all together to create a video that shows how it changes.
So, that’s what repeated measures design is all about – doing the same thing over and over again to see how something changes!
