ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Reverse zoonosis

Okay, young one, have you ever heard of the term "zoonosis"? It means catching a sickness from an animal. But there is something called "reverse zoonosis," which means an animal is getting sick from a human.

You see, just like humans can pass germs to each other, we can also pass them to animals. Sometimes humans can accidentally give their pet or wild animals sicknesses like the flu or even COVID-19.

This is why it's important to be careful and keep good personal hygiene, especially when handling animals. We don't want to make them sick, and we don't want to get sick from them either. So always wash your hands, wear a mask, and be cautious when around animals to avoid reverse zoonosis.
