Revised Common Lectionary

Okay kiddo, do you know what a lectionary is? It's like a book or a list that tells us what parts of the Bible to read during church services.

The Revised Common Lectionary is a special version of the lectionary that was created by some very smart people who wanted to make sure that Christians all over the world were reading the same parts of the Bible on the same days. This way, even if we live in different places or speak different languages, we can still share the same stories and messages from the Bible.

The Revised Common Lectionary is made up of three years - each year has a different set of readings. There are readings from the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Gospels. The Gospels are special because they tell us about the life of Jesus and are really important for Christians.

The reason it's important to have a lectionary is that it helps us to learn more about God and what He wants for us. When we hear the same stories and messages over and over again, we can start to understand them better and think about what they mean for our lives. Plus, it can be pretty cool to know that Christians all over the world are reading the same things that we are!
