Revision control

Revision control is like having a save button for your work. When you're doing something, like writing a paper or drawing a picture, you can periodically save that work as a new version. That way, if you make a mistake or decide you don't like what you've done, you can go back to an earlier version and start from there. Without revision control, it would be hard to get back to earlier versions of your work.
