Rice huller

Okay, so do you know what rice is? Yes? Good! Now, when we grow rice, we have to remove the outside layer called the hull. Why? Well, because the hull is not soft like the inside of the rice and we can't eat it.

A rice huller is a machine specifically made for removing the hull from the rice. It kind of looks like a big box with a funnel at the top where the rice is poured in. The machine then shakes the rice hard, so the hull comes off and then separate the hull from the rice.

Once the hull is removed, we have white rice that we can cook and eat! The rice hulls themselves are often used as animal feed or even fuel for fires!
