ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rime table

A rime table is like a special chart that helps us learn how to spell words. It has all the different sounds we can hear in words, like "p" or "sh" or "in," and shows us all the different ways we can spell those sounds.

For example, if we want to spell the sound "ai" like in "train," we can look on the rime table and see that we might use the letters "ai" like in "rain," "ay" as in "play," or "ei" as in "vein."

It's like having a secret code book that helps us figure out how to spell words even if we've never seen them before. And the more we practice using the rime table, the better we become at spelling and reading new words!
