Rippled glass

Have you ever seen a glass window where the glass looks wavy or distorted? That's called rippled glass!

It happens when the glass is heated up and melted and then cooled down quickly. As it cools, the glass cools at different speeds in different places.

Sort of like when you take a hot bath and then hop out and notice that your skin is all wrinkly. The skin on your fingers and toes wrinkles up a lot faster than the skin on your arms and legs, because they are smaller and lose heat faster.

The same thing happens with glass! As it cools, different parts cool at different speeds, causing the ripples or waves that can be seen on the surface.

It can be really cool to look at, especially if the light hits it just right and casts interesting shadows and patterns. But it can also make things look a little bit distorted or blurry if you're looking through it.

Overall, rippled glass is just a cool natural phenomenon that happens when glass is heated up and cooled down in a certain way.
