Round-off error

Round-off error is when numbers that are very close to each other are rounded up to the same number. For example, if you have the numbers 3.45 and 3.46, when you round them, both of them become 3.5. When this happens, the slight difference between them is lost. This can be a problem, because it can make calculations not quite as accurate as they need to be.
