Rounders

Rounders is a very popular outdoor game in the UK. It is played by two teams with both teams having members who take turns batting and fielding. The rounders team that scores the most points by the end of the game wins. The players will take turns batting using a round bat to hit a small, hard ball thrown to them by the opposing team's pitcher. The batter will try to run around the 4 bases (1st, 2nd, 3rd and home), in any order, before being tagged out by the opposing team's players in the field. Points are scored when the batter reaches a base. If the batter is tagged out before reaching a base, the other team will get an “out” and it will be their turn to bat. Teams take turns trying to hit the ball and score points until there are 3 “outs”. Then it’s the other team’s turn to bat and try to score points. When the teams switch sides, the points that each team scored during their batting turn are counted and the team with the most points wins the game!
