Rustico (pastry)

Rustico is a delicious pastry that is very similar to a pie. Let's say you love apples and want to make a pie out of them. You would first need to make the crust, which is the tasty outer layer that holds the filling inside.

For a rustico, the crust is usually made with flour, butter, and water. These ingredients are mixed together and rolled out flat with a rolling pin. Then, the pastry dough is carefully laid out on a baking sheet.

Now it's time to make the filling! Again, let's say you want to use apples. You would need to peel and slice them up into small pieces. The apple slices are then mixed with sugar and cinnamon, which make them taste really yummy.

Next, the apple mixture is carefully spooned onto one side of the pastry dough. The other side of the dough is then carefully folded over the top of the apples, creating a sort of pocket or envelope.

Finally, the rustico is baked in an oven until it's nice and golden brown. Once it's done, you can take it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it up and serving it.

Basically, a rustico is a tasty pastry that's like a pie, but smaller and baked in the shape of a pocket. It usually has a scrumptious filling of fruit or vegetables, wrapped up in a delicious crust. Yum!
