ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

SCATS

Scats are poop that animals leave behind. It's like when you go potty and leave your poop in the toilet, except animals don't use toilets like people do. Sometimes animals poop in places where we don't want them to, like on our lawn or in a park. But scats can also be really helpful for scientists who study animals because they can learn a lot about an animal by looking at its poop. Scientists can use scats to find out what animals eat, how healthy they are, and even what types of diseases they might have. So even though poop might seem gross, it can actually be very useful for learning about animals!
