ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sahm rule

Imagine you have a special rule called SAHM, which stands for Stay-At-Home Mom (or Dad). This rule means that one parent stays at home to take care of the children and the house instead of going to work. The parent who follows the SAHM rule spends their days making sure the kids are safe, fed, and happy, as well as keeping the house tidy and organized. This rule allows the children to have a parent with them at all times to play, learn, and grow together.
