Samalamig

Samalamig is a kind of drink that people in the Philippines love to drink especially during hot days. It's like a cooler or a fancy juice that you can buy from a street vendor or a market.

So, imagine it's a really hot day outside, and you're feeling very thirsty. You want something cold and refreshing to drink so you go to a vendor. They have a big jar filled with different kinds of things like gulaman (jelly made from seaweeds), sago (small pearls made from tapioca), fruits like pineapple or watermelon, and pandan leaves (a fragrant plant used for flavoring).

The vendor will scoop some of these ingredients into a plastic cup, add some sugar syrup (which is like a sweet liquid), and pour in some ice-cold water. Tada! You have samalamig!

You can drink it with a straw and enjoy the cool, sweet, and fruity flavor. It's like having a little party in your mouth! Plus, since it's made from natural ingredients, it's much healthier than soda or other sugary drinks.

So, whenever you're feeling hot and thirsty, grab some samalamig!
