Sample mean and sample covariance

Sample mean and sample covariance are mathematical calculations used to measure a group of numbers.

Sample mean is a calculation that looks at all the numbers in a group and finds the average of them. It's a good way to get an overall understanding of what is typical for this group of numbers. For example, if you're looking at the heights of people in a room, the sample mean is the average of all their heights.

Sample covariance is a calculation that looks at how two groups of numbers are related. It looks at how each number in one group affects the numbers in the other group. For example, if you are looking at the heights and weights of people in a room, you can use the sample covariance to see if there is any relationship between how tall someone is and how much they weigh.
