ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Satellite Internet access

Satellite internet is like having a really tall tower in the sky that sends and receives information. It's kind of like having a really big phone tower that you can connect to anywhere in the world. When you want to use the internet, you send a message from your computer or phone to the satellite, and then the satellite sends the message to a special place on Earth called a ground station. The ground station is connected to the internet, so it can find the website or app you want to use, like YouTube or Netflix. When it finds the website, it sends the information back up to the satellite, which sends it back down to your computer or phone. This all happens really fast, so it feels like you're using the internet just like normal. The only difference is that instead of using a cable or phone line to connect to the internet, you're using a tall tower in the sky. This is really useful if you live in a place where it's hard to get regular internet, like in the middle of the ocean or in a really remote area.
