Satellite state

A satellite state is a country that is under the control of another, much bigger country. For example, if the United States was a big country and Canada was a much smaller country, then Canada would be a satellite state of the United States. This means that the United States decides what Canada should do and how it should act. Canada would not make decisions independently, but would instead follow what the United States says.
