ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Satellite television

Satellite television is like regular TV, but instead of the TV network signals coming through the cable in your wall, they come through satellites in space. A satellite is like a big antenna that can pick up TV networks miles away. To get satellite TV, you need a satellite dish on your house that's pointed in the right direction to pick up the signals from the satellite. The dish then sends the signals to a receiver inside your home, which connects to your TV. With this setup, you can get a lot more TV networks than from regular cable.
