Schoch circles

Imagine you have a piece of paper. On that paper, you draw a big circle. Let's call this the Schoch Circle. Now, you draw a bunch of lines inside the Schoch Circle. These lines connect different points on the circle.

Next, you pick a point on the circle and draw a line from that point to another point on the circle. Keep drawing these lines until they connect to each other and form a shape inside the Schoch Circle. This shape is called a polygon, which means it has many sides.

Now, you do the same thing, but starting from a different point on the circle. Keep doing this until you have formed many different polygons inside the Schoch Circle.

The shapes you have created now all have something in common: they all have the same area, or the same amount of space inside them. This is what makes the Schoch Circle so special.

People use Schoch Circles for all sorts of things, like in math to help solve problems, or in art to create patterns. It's a fun way to explore shapes, and you can create lots of interesting designs using them!
