Scientific realism is the belief that the universe is real and that science is our best way of learning about it. In other words, science is our best way of learning the truth about how the world works. For example, when scientists study the natural world, they try to explain it and make sense of it using physical laws and theories. This helps us understand things like why gravity works the way it does, why there are different kinds of animals, and why the sun shines. Scientific realism says that, even though we can’t observe everything, we can still build a reasonable picture of reality based on what we can observe and test.
