Seasonal tropical forests are like big gardens with lots of trees, plants and animals living there. They are found in warm and wet areas around the world, mostly near the equator.
In these forests, the weather changes a lot throughout the year. During the wet season, it rains a lot and the forest becomes very green and lush. Animals such as monkeys, birds and insects come out to play and eat the new plants.
But during the dry season, there is not as much rain. The plants turn brown and the leaves fall off the trees. The animals have to find water and food in different places because things are not as plentiful.
Even though these forests have lots of different animals living there, not all of them are easy to see. Some live high up in the trees, while others are nocturnal and only come out at night.
These forests are important homes for many different organisms, and they need to be protected so that they can continue to thrive.
