Self-refuting idea

A self-refuting idea is a type of statement or thought that is not true because it contradicts itself. For example, if someone said, "No one should ever talk about this," that statement is self-refuting because by saying it, they are talking about it. Similarly, if someone said, "Nothing can ever be known," that statement is self-refuting because it is claiming to know something (that nothing can be known).
