September 11 attacks
On September 11, 2001, some very bad people attacked the United States. They flew two planes into the World Trade Center towers in New York City and another plane into the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Almost 3,000 people died in the attacks. It was a very sad day and it changed the way people thought about security.
