Shahid (martyr)

Shahid means someone who dies for their religion or country. When a person dies for their religion or country, people call them Shahid. They are considered very special and important because they have given their lives to protect something they believed in. In Islam, people who die defending their faith are often called Shahid. They are believed to have a special place in paradise because they sacrificed their lives for the sake of Allah. This is why many Muslims have great respect and admiration for Shahids.
