Ship registration

When you have a toy boat, you might want to put a sticker on it that says it's yours. This is kind of like what ship registration is all about!

But instead of a sticker, a big grown-up boat needs to be officially registered with a special group of people who make sure it is safe to sail on the water.

When a ship is registered, it means that the people who own it have given some important information about it to the group in charge of registration. They might tell them things like the name of the ship, how big it is, what kind of fuel it uses, and who owns it.

All of this information is kept in a big database so that if someone needs to find out about the ship, they can easily look it up.

Shipping registration is really important because it helps keep track of ships and makes sure they are following all the rules for safety and environment protection.
