ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Short rotation coppice

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a tree before? Imagine if we could grow lots of trees super fast and use them to create things like paper or fuel. That's basically what Short Rotation Coppice (SRC) is.

Instead of waiting for a tree to grow for years and years, farmers and landowners plant special trees that grow really quickly, almost like magic! These trees are called "coppice" and they only take a few years to grow really tall and strong.

Once the coppice trees are big enough, they are cut down and the wood is used to make all kinds of things, like furniture or even electricity! And the best part is, because we can grow so many coppice trees, we don't have to cut down old trees that have been growing for hundreds of years.

So, in a nutshell, Short Rotation Coppice is when we grow lots of fast-growing trees and use them to make all kinds of useful things. It's kind of like the magic trick that helps us take care of the environment!
