ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sievert

A sievert is a measurement for radiation. Radiation is a kind of energy that comes from things like the sun, nuclear power plants, and even our own bodies. Some radiation, like from the sun, is good for us and makes us healthier. But too much radiation can be bad for us and make us sick, so it's important to measure the amount of radiation we are exposed to. A sievert is the most common way to measure the radiation that is around us. It helps us know if there is too much radiation in a certain area and how we can protect ourselves from it.
